In February 2010 JSC Central Mining and Processing Works (CGOK) increased concentrate production volume by 20% up to 400 thous.t

In January-February 2010 JSC Central Mining and Processing Works (CGOK) increased concentrate production volume by 45.1% up to 901.7 thous.t vs. January-February 2009. For the same period pellets production increased by 4.2% up to 390.3 thous.t.

In 2009 CGOK produced 5.006 mln. t of concentrate, for the same period pellets production comprised 2.225 mln. t.

CGOK’s Production Performance

JSC Central Mining and Processing Works (CGOK) is the only enterprise in Ukraine, which operates both open cast and underground ore mining methods, and utilizes beneficiation refuse in the production process. CGOK focuses on mining, processing and production of raw materials for metallurgical industry, such as pellets and iron ore concentrate. Annual production capacity of the enterprise is currently over 5.9 mln. t of iron ore concentrate and over 2.2 mln. t of pellets. CGOK is part of METINVEST Group Iron Ore Division.

Metinvest is an international vertically-integrated mining and metals company. Production facilities of Metinvest allow the enterprises both to satisfy their own needs in raw materials, liquid steel and semi-finished products and to be a key supplier for many other Ukrainian and European companies, as well as Asian businesses.
The shareholders of Metinvest Group are SCM Group (75%) and Smart Holding (25%) that manage the company on the partnership principle.The merger of mining and metals assets of SCM and Smart Holding within Metinvest began in 2007 and will be completed in 2009.
