Khartsyzsk pipe plant
Khartsyzsk pipe plant is the largest CIS producer of SAW longitudinally welded line pipes 478-1422 mm (18-56’’) in diameter for oil, gas pipelines and heat networks.

Main production facilities of the company comprise pipe welding plant No. 2 and 4.

At pipe welding plant No. 2 the following types of pipes are manufactured: longitudinally welded single seam pipes 508-1422 mm in diameter; 12 m long, 1220-1420 mm in diameter double seam pipes for water, gas and oil pipelines with the working pressure up to 10,2 MPa.

At pipe welding plant No. 4 the entire amount of pipes produced undergo the procedure corrosion resistant coating of inner and outer surface of the pipe. The life time of coated pipes amount to 30 years. The temperature range of the working conditions of pipes being laid in soils with different humidity and chemical aggressiveness lies between -20 and +60 centigrade.

The integrated corporate management system of Khartsyzsk pipe plant was certified by QMI as conforming to the ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:1999, API Spec Q1 and DSTU ISO 9001:2000 standards.

The company employs about 6 thousand people.

Historical notice

Khartsyzsk pipe plant was established in 1898 as an engineering works with the capital of an anonymous joint-stock company from Belgium.

The major production facility of the company – pipe welding plant No. 2, came on stream in 1974. The plant reached the designed capacity in 1987. The pipes produced at the pipe welding plant No. 2 were used in construction of the following pipelines: Blue Stream, Urengoy-Pamary-Uzhgorod, Jamal-Western Siberia, oil transportation pipeline Druzhba and many others.

The unique to Ukraine corrosion resistant coating department was commissioned in 1982.

Since 1983 the company has developed the production of high quality steel pipes (1220-1420 mm in diameter) with corrosion resistant polyethylene coating of the outer surface. Presently, the entire amount of pipes can be produced with three-layered coating.

In 2000 a new manufacturing line was commissioned in pipe welding plant No. 2. This facility was intended to produce single seam 12 m pipes with 914-1067 mm (36-42’’) in diameter with the wall thickness up to 17 mm for oil and gas pipelines. Later on after being modernized the facility became capable to weld the pipes with the diameter of 711-1067 mm (28-42'').

In 2003 the plant started the production of pipes with inner coating with the new coating line came on stream in pipe welding plant No. 4.

In 2007 another state-of-the-art manufacturing line was commissioned in pipe welding plant No. 2. This facility manufactures single seam 12 m pipes with 508-1422 mm (20-56’’) in diameter with the wall thickness up to 40 mm. The equipment for this new facility was manufactured by the leading Eauropean producers.

The production capacity of Khartsyzsk pipe plant amounts to 1.1 mmtpy of SAW pipes including up to 700 Kt of coated pipes. The product range comprises 500 types of pipes.
