The quality of products of Metinvest is monitored at every stage of integrated production process – from coal and ore mining downstream to finished steel production. The qualitative parameters of our finished products – hot rolled steel and SAW pipes – comply stringently with the strict requirements of modern international standards.
Azovstal Iron and Steel Works. The Quality management system (QMS) is certified by API as conforming to the requirements of API Spec Q1 having acknowledged the company’s status of an approved producer of steel plates for structures of deep water offshore platforms according to API Specification 2H и 2Y. The company’s QMS in the area of production of concast steel slabs, steel ingots, multipurpose hot rolled flat and long products of carbon, low alloyed and alloyed grades of steel is also certified by the Quality Management Institute (QMI) to ISO 9001:2000 (DSTU ISO 9001:2001) standards.
The efficiency of the corporate QMS designed according to ISO 9001:2000 (DSTU ISO 9001:2001) was reassured by the QMI in 2007 with the appropriate certificate issued in 2008. The audit of the Quality management system performed Transneft (Russia) allowed the company to be chosen among the steel skelp (pipe plate) suppliers to the producers of large diameter SAW pipes to be used in construction of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline (ESPO) in Russian Federation.
Azovstal has the certified in accordance to EU Directive 89/106/EEC (with amendments according to 93/68/EWG Directive of the European Community) Quality management system in the area of manufacturing of structural steel products conforming to the requirements of App. ZA of EN 10025-1:2004 standard. The company obtained the right to place “CE” mark of conformity to the aforementioned standard on its products that is acknowledged by the respective EU Declaration of conformity.
Steel plates for shipbuilding, civil engineering and construction, plates for deep-sea offshore platforms, pressure vessels and boilers are certified. Certificates of conformity are obtained from the following Classification Societies: Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (UK), Germanischer Lloyd, TUV-NORD, TUV-Berlin-Brandeburg , TUV-Rheinland (Germany), Det Norske Veritas (Norway), American Bureau of Shipping and American Petroleum Institute (USA), Bureau Veritas (France), Maritime Register of Shipping (Russia).
Production of railroad rails, rail fasteners as well as sections for coal-mining industry is certified in accordance with Ukrainian standards requirements (GOST).

The quality of pipes manufactured by Khartsyzsk pipe plant is assured and certified by API as conforming to the requirements of API Spec 5L and API Spec 2B. UkrSEPRO certified the conformity of the company’s products to the requirements of Ukrainian national standards and industrial regulations. The corporate management system was recently certified by QMI as conforming to the ISO 9001:2000, ISO14001:2004, OHSAS18001:1999 standards.
