The industrial company Kryvbass Blast Works (“Kryvbassvzryvprom”) specializes in providing services of blast crushing of rock in open pits, explosive rupture of buildings and large-size constructions (including steel and concrete constructions), strengthening of soils, metals hardening etc.
The major clients of the company are iron ore mining enterprises of Krivoy Rog basin and iron ore mining division of Mittal Steel Krivoy Rog. Kryvbassvzryvprom possesses the extensive facilities for store, transporation, production and preparation of explosives.
The company employs over 1500 people. Kryvbassvzryvprom was established in 1969.
The highest level of production volumes (volume of exploded matter) were reached during 1984-1991 and amounted to 110 million cu meters.
The company is well renowned outside Ukraine mainly due to performing of special blasting operation – blasting dismantling of large steel structure , chimneys, viaducts and platforms, demolition of house footings of industrial plants (without any halts of production), steel cutting (including explosive breaking of the hull structures of submarines) etc.
In 2006 the new production site “Severniy” with the annual capacity of 25 thousand tonnes of explosives was put into operation. The complex is equipped with modern automation systems that helped to develop the new product “emonite” and raised the company to the highest levels of quality and production and services safety. Emulsion of emonit is unsensitive to explosion, water resistant and ecologically safe.
