AVLITA stevedoring company is situated in non-freezing Sevastopol bay – south-western part of Crimean peninsula.
This is the southernmost bay of Ukrainian part of the Black Sea. AVLITA benefits from its geographic location being connected with all Ukrainian region by an extensive railroad network and major motorways what makes the company an advantageous centre for multimodal transportation.
The major activity of the company is the transshipment of steel products and bulked cargo, especially grain.
AVLITA possesses not only all the means for multimodal transshipment of cargo: from rail and truck to ship and vice versa and from ship to ship but also extensive warehousing facilities and freight forwarding capabilities (including customs brokerage, cargo monitoring, inspection and loading etc).
AVLITA operates 2 berths (No. 20 and 21) servicing ships with a maximum length of 250 meters (prolongation underway) and maximum drafts of 9,50 and 13 meters. The berth No. 20 is now being reconstructed that will help to service ships up to 175 thousand tonnes of deadweight.
The company also has high performance 100 thousand tonnes grain silos terminal with the loading/unloading capacity of cranes up to 1,200 tonnes per hour. Presently the second stage of terminal is on the way to be commissioned to have raised the silos and ships loading capacity by 70 thousand tonnes and 22% respectively (reaching 35 thousand tonnes per day).
AVLITA loading/unloading modern facilities include 2 portal GOTTWALD cranes, 80 tonnes lifting capacity each; 3 LIEBHERR portal cranes, 104 tonnes of lifting capacity each: 2 portal 20-tonne cranes and 4 gantry cranes servicing warehouses.
AVLITA stevedoring company was established in 1995 on the base of the Northern site of Sevastopol maritime plant to perform transshipment of steel products. In 2006 METINVEST HOLDING became the company’s owner.
